Simhastha Mahaparva Ujjain : Today's update

DHARMDHWAJA OF EUCALYPTUS REACHES UJJAIN FOR SIMHASTHA:

The Dharmdhwaja of eucalyptus wood (Nilgiri) of 13 akhadas has reached Ujjain after being worshipped by saints and seers for Simhastha-2016. Four akhadas erect 76 feet high and remaining 9 akhadas have erected 65 feet high Dharmdhwaja. The Forest Department is preparing these massive rafters of eucalyptus wood to provide to every akhada free of cost.
With the cooperation of Forest Department, saints-seers selected Nilgiri wood in forests. This time, they selected wood through Semli forest committee in
in Kantapur circle in Dewas district. Before transportation, saints-seers performed Pujan of wood. People of villages through which it was transported also worshipped the wood. Finally, the wood has reached Ujjain depot of the department, where it is being finished.
Maximum attention is paid to holiness of the wood during finishing.
Kannaud MLA Ashish Sharma was also present during Puja of Dharmdhwaja wood. Sharma said that it is fortunate that wood from Semli area is being used for Simhastha. Saints-seers of various Akhadas had selected the wood in December. Simhastha is considered open after erection of Dharmdhwaja.
Notably, all the main Akaharas have their own Dharmdhwaja that has separate colour and the Akhara is recognised by the color of its Dharmdhwaja. The Akharas carried out their religious activities under it. These Dharmdhwaja are mark of dignity of the Akaharas besides being their symbol and the Saints first of all installs these Dharmdhwajas and these are worshiped daily in the morning and the evening.
Dharmdhwajas and flags have remained identity of Sanatan religion since ages.
