Welcome to Simhasth Ujjain 2016

Simhastha:

Holy site celebrations in India, called melas, are a vital part of the journey custom of Hinduism. Celebrating a legendary occasion in the life of a god or an auspicious visionary period, the melas attract in huge quantities of travelers from everywhere throughout the nation. The best of these, the Kumbha Mela, is a riverside celebration held four times at regular intervals, rotating between Allahabad at the intersection of the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati streams; Nasik on the River Godavari; Ujjain on the River Sipra ; and Haridwar on the River Ganges. It is said that during the Kumbh Mela bathing in these Rivers considered as an incredible legitimacy, purifies both soul and body.

The motive of Simhastha:

There are some stories about the Simhastha's origin. The most well known one identifies with the Samudra Manthan or agitating of the sea. The story goes that the divine beings and evil spirits agitated the sea and discovered an Amrit Kund, a urn containing nectar.

To assure that the samovar did not fall in the hands of the demons, the gods gave it over to Brihaspati, the Moon God, the Sun God and the Saturn. The son of Indra, Jayant When ran away holding the samovar in his hands, the demons caught him. A savage battle arise and it kept going 12 days.

In mythology it is described that : One day within the lives of the gods equals one year of the humans. In this manner the battle lasted twelve years. within the struggle to possess the samovar, few drops of the nectar fell on four points in Bharat and developed into four sacred rivers

The GANGA at Haridwar,
The YAMUNA at Prayag,
The Godavari at Nashik and
The Kshipra at Ujjain.

At these four places as per the particular configuration of the planets Kumbh Mela is originated.

KUMBH MELA:

It is the power of faith that can divide a river, move the mountains, and know the misery that come bundled up for being an essential part of Kumbh Mela, a crowd of millions of peoples, gathered together to be released from the vicious earthly cycle of the life and the death and go ahead towards a heavenly field , which knows no stress or pain.

They sip the soul of the dedication filled feel where Lord Shiva is inescapable. The ocean of mankind gets orchestrated into a solitary element, defeating every single divisive thought. This is a lifetime experience to them.

Grand Simhastha, on the Kshipra's glorious ghats:

The Ujjain Kumbh mela is celebrated when the Jupiter ascends into the sun sign Leo’s quarter or the Simha constellation of zodiac signs, that is why it is known as ‘Simhastha’. The Simhastha is uncommon in Ujjain as it is the seat of lord Mahakal – the Lord of all times. The custom of showering in the holy waters of Kshipra starts on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Chaitra (March-April) and proceeds on different dates until the full moon appears in the next month of Vaishakha. The Simhastha at Ujjain has an extraordinary centrality as an uncommon design of planets happens in 12 years with the Sun in the Aries and the Jupiter in the Leo.
